According to my source in Iceland, this is THE quintessential Icelandic Skiing Anthem! No joke, ask anyone. Or at least anyone who comes from the mountains...


Born in 1942, Helena Eyjólfsdóttir began her singing career at the young age of 12, similar to the famous Icelandic singing legend, Björk.

The Chorus roughly translates to:
On skis I enjoy myself - fala lalalala lalalala

Oh, I'm ready Blackcomb

This 1987 Whistler Blackcomb ski resort commercial starts off by asking the question, "Are you ready?" Oh yeah, you bet I'm ready for some Blackcomb 1987!

At the moment you snap your boot into your ski's bindings, a neon blue light electrifies up your leg for mountain action. Friendly staff and hot dogs too? You don't need to sell me on anymore things Blackcomb because I'm sold. There's just too much greatness on your mountain. I want to go to there.
